!!! Announcement of 2003 EPGS Elections!!!
From Your President, Bob Hranek
For anyone who's complained how bad the current mis-management is,
For anyone who's looking to change our venue,
For anyone who's looking to play Junta as a LARP,
Here's Your Chance!
We're looking for a few good people (honestly, isn't it time we had a woman President!) to keep EPGS going (and growing?) throughout 2004 (the usual 18-month sentence). Tasks we've had people take of include:
President
Treasurer
Editor
Webmaster
Publicity
The EPGS voting schedule is:
1) I will accept written (with your name included) and emailed (to rhranek@comcast.net) nominations from now until our 2nd June meeting (June 21st).
2) I will announce the confirmed (they have to be willing to take it) candidates at our 2nd June meeting (June 21st).
3) I will accept written (with your name included) or emailed ballots from throughout the afternoon of our July meeting.
4) I will announce "the chosen ones" by the evening of our July meeting.
5) We all keep on gaming…
P.S., I am willing to keep the Presidency for one final term, but you know we'll be staying at Oxford Valley Mall until at least 2005 (insurance and reservations must be completed in advance) if that happens.

BlairCon's A Comin' (June 12-15)
From Thomas Parauda <paraut@blair.edu>
This is a reminder to those select gamers who may be interested in an extended weekend of open boardgaming at Blair Academy. Come enjoy the great facilities, fine games, and nice people in a communal environment. Plenty of rooms are still available for those who would like to stay in a nice dormitory.
If you have not been in touch with me but are interested in coming, as a day tripper or overnight guest, please let me know by sending and e-mail to paraut@blair.edu.
Dates: Thursday, June 12 (7 p.m.) - Sunday June 15 (5 p.m)
Rates:
Gaming: $10 for entire weekend; $5 for a single day/evening session
Overnight Rooms: single bed and linen $50 (1 night total) -$60 (2 nights total) -$70 (3 nights total)
Other Stuff:
For those who would like to come THURSDAY evening: please let me know. I include Thursday as part of the weekend only because it doesn't cost anything extra, but I don't want people to be disappointed if there are only a handful of people here. Your letting me know of your interest in coming Thursday allows me to in turn get back to others; this way, you know what you can expect. Last year, we had 7 gamers, and it made for a real nice, relaxed start to the weekend. We ate at my house--good food, my wife's cooking--and then went up to campus to game. Pretty much the plan this year if there's enough interest. Might be worth taking that day off from work…?
Right now, it looks as though we'll have 10-20 people staying in the dorm, and another 10-20 day tripping for at least one session. It's impossible to nail down #'s given my "whatever" approach, but it feels as though you can expect 20-25 total by Friday night, then about 30 or so total by Saturday night.
Directions: the Blair site has directions: www.blair.edu click on "Campus and Location" and then "Directions to Campus." You are looking for Annie Hall. Also ask for me, Tom Parauda if you get lost on campus. Of course, you can e-mail me if you'd like even more specific directions.
As was the case the last two years, Mike Sarno, a game dealer, will arrange some of his stuff informally on a table. He has also asked that I encourage you to contact him directly if you would like to order some games through him. He is offering BlairCon participants a 20% discount off retail and will bring your order to the event. There are some neat games just hitting the stores, so this is a good opportunity to support a local dealer without paying too much. Besides, it's kinda neat to know a new game or two will be waiting when you arrive. His essentials:
